Course Information

Our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) has been designed for those who are passionate about the care industry and want to provide care for individuals who require assistance due to ageing or disability.

Through the completion of this course, graduates are equipped with the relevant factual, technical, theoretical and procedural knowledge of concepts and practices necessary to provide person-centred support.

This entry-level course gives graduates an understanding of the role of a care worker in community and residential settings.

Study Mode

** Blended delivery: Face to face training, Virtual Classroom ( Zoom) and Practical Placement

** Please note that the assessment methods for this course includes Theory component and mandatory practical placement component of 120 hours. You must complete placement hours to be able to achieve the competency in the units and successfully complete the course.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for the course include:

  • Completion of grade 10-12 or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) abilities.
  • Must be able to obtain a federal police check
  • Students require a mandatory influenza vaccine and may also need a COVID-19 vaccine to begin work placement.
  • 120 Hours of work placement is required to obtain this qualification. Our Placement officers will arrange everything for you.

All you need to arrange prior to vocational placement is:

  • A current national police clearance
  • Senior first aid certificate
  • Check Participant Eligibility Criteria.

Assessment

Assessments for the course include:

  • Question and answer/written assessment tasks

  • Role play/practical demonstration and observation of skills (as applicable)

  • Practical demonstration and observation of skills in a simulated environment (as applicable)

Course Duration

  • 52 Weeks: Full-time
  • 120 Hours of work placement is required to obtain this qualification. Our Placement officers will arrange everything for you.
